FIRE STATION

I am so behind on my blogging, and I do have much to blog about, I decided to start with our outing at the fire station. I took Robby, Maya and Miles with Robby's joy school group, there are only 5 kids in the group so I was trying to add to the number of kids so they would see us as a valid pre-school. It worked, perhaps to well, the man in charge was a little annoyed at our underage kids, we had 3 toddlers. But, the kids LOVED this trip. Bright red fire trucks, how cool. There is a picture here with the kids with their hands over their ears, that was when the siren went off. It was LOUD, Miles will have some PTSD from that experience, and I think grumpy fire man let them go off a little longer because he enjoyed the distress of the toddlers. Actually, he really wasn't so bad, the picture of him having the kids STOP, DROP and ROLL was so funny. And, the questions the kids had were hilarious. The joy school group includes 4 boys and 1 girls, and I am telling you, I have yet to experience anything more entertaining than the 4 year old boy.
Oh - I'm forgetting the funny or not so funny part about this trip. So, Mr. Fireman who is also the fire inspector for Orem city houses, and businesses went over basic house hold fire safety tips. Things like is you should have alarms on each level of your home, and more recent one in each bedroom, he reminded us to check batteries. He also cautioned us to double check thing like not leaving your stove or oven on, or leaving burning candles on when you are not at home. DUH, I know this stuff. And, my house is so up to code. Um, yeah, except for that burning candle I left at home while we were at the fire station! Yes, I made a comment - sarcastic in nature, and he informed me 'Mam, we don't joke about things of that nature.' Ok, so, I sort of scooted on out of that room and called my neighbor and asked him to go to my house and blow the candle out. And, in all seriousness, I intend to be much more vigilant about my fire safety in the home from now on.
As stated, I have much more to post about and will get working on it. So, stay tuned.

Ma'am, while you're working on your fire safety, you should also work on your sarcasm... cuz we take that stuff seriously around here.

So funny and -- ironic? I did joyschool with 5 girls and never knew if I could handle a bunch of boys. I have a hard enough time holding birthday parties with too many of them!

That sounds like one "Hard-Core" fireman!! I know it isn't funny, but I totally laughed about your telling him that you left a candle burning at home!!! I'm telling you- you need to get a Scentsy warmer- then you don't have to worry!!
