Summer flash back

I didn't ever really write about our family reunions (plural) at Bear Lake. As a kid I spent many summers at a beach house on the Idaho side of Bear Lake. I have amazing memories of this with family friends that shared their house with us, just playing in the sand, laying in the sun, eating great food and lots of it, playing games, mostly being with my brothers and my baby sister who was pretty much a baby back then. My brothers, however, their memories they claim were not so great. We went with my mom's 2 BFF's who are more more like sisters to her than anything. And, they had daughters - daughters who had crushes on my cute brothers and Kevin my brother Ryan's BFF (do men have BFF's) who actually was - quite the hottie - though he grossed me out -(I know he might read this - nothin but love Kev). I guess they tormented them - although how could my brothers seriously not dig the attention - whatever. They just wanted to catch lizards and play in the water.
Ok -sorry sidetracked by my own trip down memory lane, so as I was looking at my iphoto I came across some summer pictures of our family reunions - on both sides of our families we went to Bear Lake and here are some cute pictures. We had such a great time at both trips being with family. If you haven't been to Bear Lake - it's absolutely beautiful. The mountains surrounding are equally as sublime. We hiked down into Minnetonka cave which is where some of these photos come from. Tom's dad grew up in Paris Idaho and it was so neat to see where he came from and learn about his family history. We are really blessed to have both families take such an active role in making sure our kids spend a lot of time together. I love that my children really know their cousins and their aunts and uncles. They have unique and special relationships with them. Their grandparents - all 4 are amazing people and really have made strong efforts to get to know my children individually. Thanks families!

Oooooh, I like your new layout! I've never been to Bear Lake. Not growing up around here, I've missed out on many things that other people seem to have done millions of times. Looks like a fun family vacation spot, though. (ps- is Bear Lake the same place with the raspberry ice cream I hear about?)

So fun to hear about all your trips and see pictures of the kids.
Hang in there...with the new job situation!
Love you!
